Wordless Wednesday w/linky - Washington Monuments by Moonlight

During our way too brief visit to Washington, DC we took an Old Town Trolley Monuments by Moonlight tour of the monuments and memorials. This was by far my favorite of our DC activities. Seeing the monuments all lit up at night was absolutely breathtaking.  Another highlight was that we had a fabulous tour guide who told the most interesting stories and from whom I really learned a lot of interesting facts! It was truly a wonderful experience and if you are visiting DC - I highly recommend it!

Here are some of the pics I was able to capture -
much to my dismay my camera was on LOW BATTERY (imagine my horror!)
after a long day of sight-seeing and picture taking in DC :(

I'd love to see you Wordless/Wordish Wednesday Photos!

Family Fun Friday - Exploring Family Friendly Washington, DC

Sadly, our vacation has come to an end :(

But, we had a FANTASTIC time & enjoyed so many new places & sights.

It was by far my BEST vacation to date!

I previously shared with you these memorable highlights:
(click the links if you missed out on any of the fun!)

Today, I will share some of our final stop with you - Washington, D.C.

There is so much to do in the Nation's Capitol
that we hardly made a dent during our brief time there.

I can't wait to go back because there is just so much more I want to see & do!

What an amazing place!
There is just so much to see, learn and experience here -

from learning about the Wright Brothers

to Amelia Earhart & other Women Flight Pioneers

From exploring various rockets & missles

to learning about NASA's explorations,

 human spaceflight,

and commercial aviation.

The Lil Divas even got to play in a hands-on exhibit
which taught them all about the principles of flight!

Next, we spent a great deal of time exploring

This is another fascinating place -
who can't help but be in awe of dinosaur bones!

Aside from that they have so many other wonderful exhibits
like Ocean Hall

The Hall of Mammals

The Hall of Human Origins

The infamous HOPE Diamond :)

the Lil Diva's favorite exhibit - the Orkin Insect Zoo
was full of lots of hands-on fun

and we even got a sneak peek at a fabulous upcoming exhibit -
Eternal Life in Ancient Egypt

These were definitely family friendly & fun places to visit in DC!
They are free to enter for the whole family
but some certain attractions do cost extra is you would like to experience them.

I have more to share of our Washington, DC experience later so stay tuned........
