Wordless Wednesday 5/31 {w/linky}: Get Out & Play - Preschool Sports Day

The Lil Divas had a Sports Day at Preschool & I was a volunteer Mom during my Oldest Diva's day!

Here's a peek at some playtime fun, flops & laughs:

Let's try some hula-hooping!

Huh?!

Ok, wait a minute - let's try that again!

I think I got it Mom!

or maybe not!

Wonder who she takes after? haha!

That's alright, Mom! I'd much rather try my luck at bowling

and the egg & spoon race

some good old fashioned relay races

and even a little baseball

Yay, I got it!

What a FUN Day! :)

Now it's your turn! What are you sharing for your Wordless Wednesday this week?

Custom Beat Bee Toys!!!

The first wave of Custom Hand-Painted Beat Bee Toys are here!!! I'm doing 100 total, all individually painted by me...the Beat Bee and his tape cassette, along with the box he comes in! Full color funk. Each box is signed and numbered. We're offering the first five right HERE!

Fancy Girls and Posh Jeweled Butterflies

The Lil Divas really enjoyed our Caterpillar/Butterfly Theme. It was definitely one of their favorites to date. Honestly, what is there not to love about butterflies - especially when you get to witness the magic first-hand like we did!

We read many wonderful butterly books which I shared with you in various posts. We learned lots of wonderful information this way but one book we read simply for fun because we LOVE the series - Fancy Nancy: Bonjour, Butterfly.

We adore Fancy Nancy and we hadn't read this particular book in awhile so on the final day of our butterfly theme - I pulled it out and we oohed & ahhed over the glittery cover and got to reading!

The Lil Divas never tire of the wonderful illustrations or the big, fancy words in these books! They are perfect for Posh Lil Divas like mine & this one does not disappoint.

Craft: What else can you do after reading a posh book except make a Posh Jeweled Butterfly! (I must admit this craft was inspired by another blogger's craft. Unfortunately, I do not have the link! So sorry!)

What You Need:
3 Pipe Cleaners - 1 for body & 2 for wings
beads

What To Do:
1. Take the pipe cleaner you will use for the body and fold in half. Twist it around leaving some of the ends free to form antenna

2. Attach the other 2 pipe cleaners to the bottom of the body so that you have one on each side of the body.

3. Let your child add beads as desired but leave room to manipulate the pipe cleaner.

The youngest Diva just added whatever beads she wanted

The Oldest Diva decided to make a symmetrical pattern - she learned well!

 Here is her finished pattern:

4. I then made a wing shape and twisted the ends around the top to close the wing shapes and tada - you have a gorgeous jeweled butterfly even Fancy Nancy would approve of!

These butterflies were so easy to make, required only a few materials, and they turned out Oh, so posh &  unbelieveably cute! :)

Do your kids have a favorite book series that they never get tired of reading? I'd love to know about it!

Memorial Day Flag Pancakes!

We started our Memorial Day with some yummy & fairly easy to make festive Flag Pancakes!

I am no expert but the Lil Divas were happy with their cute flags & they were yummy so I would call it a SUCCESS! I might just make them again for the 4th of July! :)

What You Need:
pancake batter
red & blue food coloring
3 squeeze bottles
chocolate chips, sprinkles , etc for star decorations

Prep:
1.Take a small amount of pancake batter and mix in blue food coloring - you only need a small amount for this so it depends on how many pancakes you plan to make but I used only about 2 spoonfuls for this section on each pancake. I did not use a squeeze bottle for this - just a spoon.

2. The rest of the mixture should be divided between the red & white (uncolored) batter. You will need a bit more of the white so I divided in half by eye and then took a bit more to leave uncolored. I put the uncolored batetr into 1 of my squeeze bottles. The added red food coloring to the remainder of the batter, mixed & added it to 1 of my squeeze bottles.

I used a griddle to cook these & kept it on fairly low - it's important to let it cook pretty well before flipping or you will not end up with a good flag!

What To Do:
1. Make the flag outline using uncolored (white) batter. I just made a large rectangle shape and then the smaller inside square as well.

2. Add the blue batetr to the inner square

3. Alternate making stripes between your red and white pancake batter.

4. Be sure to let it cook until it is mostly firm before flipping.

5. Add chocolate chips, sprinkles, or any oter decorations to make some stars

You have some cute Flag Pancakes!

Happy Memorial Day!

Kidorable Hooded Towel Review, Giveaway & Coupon Code

The Lil Divas & I LOVE Kidorable products. They have the cutest designs for boys and girls and all the products we have tried have been top quality. So of course we jumped at the opportunity to review one of their adorable Hooded Towels.

Kidorable's Hooded Towels are absorbent, soft cotton towels in fun kid friendly designs that kids will love like cat, mermaid, dinosaur, fairy, frog, ladybug, pirate, fireman and more.

The towels come in two sizes- newborn to two years and ages three to six.

We reviewed the Mermaid Towel. It was a hit right out of the box as it arrived in a cute re-usable bag.

Once we unwrapped the towel (it came tied up in a cute ribbon) - the Lil Divas were even more impressed!

It looked just a Mermaid dress-up costume and had the cutest embellishments with a shell pocket, a flower on the hood, sea life details on the back & even a few scales on the tail!

Isn't it just darling? Beyond the obvious cute factor - there are quite a few practical things that both the Lil Divas and I really liked about the towel.

When the Lil Divas come out of the pool or beach they are always cold and want to be wrapped up in their towel. Unfortunately the towels NEVER stay on and I ALWAYS end up wrapping & re-wrapping it around them numerous times.

The Kidorable towel not only has a hood which means the girls would feel warmer but it has a front snap button close - so no more fighting with a towel that keeps falling off! Yipee! That is seriously one feature that is so simple & yet so necessary and time saving for me! I LOVE it!

The towel is also lightweight and my Lil Diva was able to put it on and take it off on her own. We both like that - she liked being/feeling indepenedent & I like the idea of getting a break from all the towel wrapping & unwrapping I do at the pool and beach. :)

Plus, honestly how can you resist this?

It is just too darling! All the designs have such neat details. You really must check them out at Kidorable.com.

The Kidorable towel was a hit for my Lil Diva so I am so excited that one of YOU gets to win one right here as well! :) Woohoo!

Aimee (Classified:Mom) & Bernadette (Mom to 2 Posh Lil Divas)

Buzzzzzz Says the Bumble Bee

We have left the Butterflies behind & moved along in our Insect theme to Bees!

I still have some Butterfly things left to share/post but I had to jump into our Bee craft because it was too cute & needs to be shared.

Book:

This was a cute book & the girls really enjoyed it. It is about a (girl) bee who reads in a newspaper that bees can not fly due to their large bodies. She believes it to be true - so she stops being able to fly.

Craft: Toilet Paper Roll Bumble Bee

What You Need:
Toilet Paper Roll
Yellow Paint
Paint Brushes
White Construction paper
Wiggly Eyes
Black Tape (you can also use paint)
Black Pipe Cleaner
Glue - we used tacky glue
Black Marker

What To Do:

1. Paint the TP roll in yellow & let dry (we did this on one day and finished the craft the next day)

2. cut the black pipe cleaner in half and make a v shape to form antenna - glue or staple to the inside of top of TP roll

3. Add wiggly eyes (or just draw them on) and paint on face using black marker

4. Using your black tape help child cut strips (make sure they aren't too long) and arrange to make stripes on the bee

5. Using white construction paper (fold in half) cut out wing shape and glue to back side of bee.

You will have an adorable TP bee that can be proudly displayed!

Have you made any bee crafts? We have a few more bee related things to do & I am always looking for great ideas so I'd love for you to share!
